When to create a client
Create a client when you have active delivery work or useful evidence to organize. You do not need to enter every historical account before using the system.
Use the real company name and, when available, its primary email domain. The domain and contact addresses help Said & Done associate incoming evidence with the correct account.
Set up the client record
- Open Clients and choose New client.
- Enter the client name and confirm the engagement start date used for billing-cycle and update timing.
- Add the people whose meetings or emails should be recognized as client evidence.
- Review the client tabs before importing evidence so you know where meetings, timeline events, updates, walkthroughs, reports, and portal access will appear.
What good setup looks like
- The client has one canonical name instead of several near-duplicates.
- Contacts use real work addresses and are attached to the correct account.
- The engagement start date reflects the commercial relationship, not the date the record was entered.
- Portal access is granted only after you have material ready to publish.
Avoid duplicate clients
Before creating a record, search the Clients page for abbreviations, parent-company names, and previous spellings. Duplicate clients split the evidence history and weaken matching, health signals, and reports.
