When to use it
Use Software Factory when a client action item represents real software work and the agency is ready to define the implementation. Do not create a development brief from an unconfirmed suggestion or ambiguous meeting remark.
Prepare the connection
- Connect the GitHub App as a workspace owner or admin.
- Grant access only to the repositories needed for approved client delivery.
- Map the repository to the correct client.
- Confirm that the action item is reviewed and has enough evidence to define the desired outcome.
Draft and review the brief
- Clarify the user or business outcome before implementation details.
- Keep source evidence and assumptions distinguishable.
- Review scope, acceptance criteria, risks, and proposed stories.
- Do not deliver or create downstream work until an authorized person approves the brief.
Access safety
Repository access is workspace-admin managed. Limit the GitHub App installation to the smallest practical repository set and remove access when the engagement ends.
